CENTRINITY SHIPS LATEST VERSION OF FIRSTCLASS TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM

Products built on FirstClass 6 platform offer enhanced scalability, performance and features

Richmond Hill, ON, CANADA – August 21, 2001 – Centrinity Inc. (TSE: CTI), which develops and markets FirstClass Unified Communications and Collaborative Groupware technologies, today announced that it is shipping the latest version of its technology platform, FirstClass 6.  FirstClass 6 is the platform upon which both the company’s FirstClass Unified Communications and FirstClass Collaborative Groupware products are built.

“Centrinity is committed to the ongoing evolution of its technology to continually meet the demands of the marketplace,” said Myles McGovern, president and chief executive officer, Centrinity Inc. “Many of the enhancements in FirstClass 6 were driven by direct feedback from our customers.  Our goal is to continue to set the standard for the industry, not only in terms of features and functionality, but scalability, reliability and performance.”

FirstClass 6 offers Centrinity’s customers enhanced performance and scalability, supporting five times as many concurrent users per server than the previous version.  In a multiple server environment, Centrinity’s FirstClass technology scales to millions of users.

“Scalability is very important to our customers because of its relation to hardware and administration costs,” said Mr. McGovern.  “The greater the scalability of our product, the lower the total cost of ownership.  This is especially important to service providers who can have subscriber bases in the tens of millions of users.”

Other enhancements include advanced customization abilities that provide consistency of features and functionality for users accessing messages and content via the web interface.  New editor tools provide users with enhanced messaging flexibility.  And security upgrades, including SSL encryption, ensure that users can access their messages and content via a secure network.

"Centrinity's latest release of FirstClass demonstrates the company's drive to equip customers with top-tier technology," said Robert Mahowald, Senior Research Analyst, IDC. "FirstClass 6 has evolved significantly over the past year with features such as a newly designed web user interface and important security enhancements.  The company has a proven track record of innovating with their products."
