Description

This is an announcement of the general availability of FirstClass 7.1 SP3 Server and Internet Services for Windows and Mac OS. This service release is a recommended upgrade for all FirstClass 7.1 installations. This service release supersedes the corresponding FirstClass 7.1 SP2 components.

The new product versions are:

-FirstClass Server 7.1 Build 133 for Windows
-FirstClass Internet Services 7.1 Build 7.082 for Windows
-FirstClass Server 7.1 Build 133 for Mac OS
-FirstClass Internet Services 7.1 Build 7.081 for Mac OS


Availability

FirstClass 7.1 SP3 Server and Internet Services for Windows and Mac OS are available for immediate download from the FirstClass website:


and the FirstClass online server FCOL (FirstClass Online).

General availability of FirstClass 7.1 SP3 Server and Internet Services for Mac OS X will be announced in the next revision of this document.


Customer Driven Product Support

The major quality enhancements for each component are listed below.

Server

-The operation of erroneously deleting a portion of, or the entire Groups folder is now prevented.
-Model desktops may now be created when necessary during group maintenance operations.
-A Windows OS specific calendar conflicts display problem has been corrected.
-General stability improvements and minor performance enhancements have been added.

Internet Services

-Improvements have been made for inbound SMTP connections in conjunction with a Sendmail server.
-An unauthenticated HTTP session which connects prior to the gateway channel connecting, is now recognized.
-SMTP server crash reports that end with “Exception detected – ignored” are now more informative.
-Improvements have been made to prevent false-positive results from SPAM relay testing tools.
-Internet headers that are unconventionally wrapped (split into a new line) following the first line colon character are now recognized.
-A problem resulting with the use of the @seenheader mail rule function has been corrected.
-HTTP stats now have HTTP paths written in full.
-General stability improvements and minor performance enhancements have been added.
